Haver is an ex-vice president of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, a business booster group once headed by Pioneer James Simmons. Haver raised money for the ’94 campaign of Gov. Jane Hull, who encouraged her to become a Bush fundraiser. Haver now runs her own “strategic marketing” firm that works on economic development, public relations and event planning. Her attempts to rename the firm “The Rainmakers” hit a legal snag: the name was already registered to a car wash.
