Aegis, formerly known as ATC Communications, is a telemarketing firm with such clients as American Express and AT&T. Mermoud is a former ATC director and senior vice president. He worked for the U.S. Information Agency under Presidents Reagan and Bush. As a delegate to the GOP National Convention in ’96, Mermoud advocated a huge income tax cut for his hometown of Washington, D.C.
