As of August 11, 2004, the George W. Bush campaign had identified a total of 548 individuals who had achieved either Pioneer or Ranger status. They did so by raising $100,000 or $200,000 respectively for Bush’s 2004 reelection effort through the end of March. In contrast, 241 individuals became Pioneers by the end of Bush’s 2000 campaign. During the final six months of the 2004 campaign, more donors are expected to hit Pioneer or Ranger status.
