Spogli attended Harvard Business School with Bush. He later formed an investment banking firm in the ‘80s with Pioneer Brad Freeman and current Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan in the ‘80s. Riordan split up with the other two partners in ’88, when they decided to specialize in big leveraged buyouts worth more than $100 million. Freeman Spogli recently announced plans to expand into venture capital deals.
